I’m sure other teams are getting hammered by injuries around the NFL this season. How many of them are down to their fourth-stringers at two positions after seven weeks?

The Washington Commanders are in this medical predictiment after losing defensive end and sack leader Dorance Armstrong with a season-ending knee injury suffered in Sunday’s 44-22 loss at the Dallas Cowboys.

(To avoid any hyperventalitying, Jayden Daniels’ hamstring injury is “not significant or long term,” based on MRI testing, head coach Dan Quinn said on Monday. Daniels’ status for next weeks’ “Monday Night Football” game in Kansas City in uncertain for now. Breathe easier that the injury isn’t considered more serious. More on this momentarily or scroll down if you just cannot wait.)

The Playbook:

  • No end in sight

  • Daniels avoids calamity

  • “We’re off course”

  • Time for Latti-less?

  • Who’s number 3?
