The Washington Commanders’ running back picture is crowded — and fluid.
The safe projection is keeping last year’s trio — Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols — plus seventh-round rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt. But safe projections rarely survive camp, and Robinson’s hold on a roster spot looks shakier than it did even a few weeks ago.
On the “Last Man Standig” podcast last week, I laid out why I see the fourth-year back as “unlikely” to make the Week 1 roster. The thought exercise started back in May and additional data points kept the possibility alive.
