Jayden Daniels's full practice means the offense Washington wanted is finally arriving

Daniels’ likely return and reinforcements at receiver and the line offer the Commanders a rare late-season chance to project forward.

ASHBURN, Va. – Much has changed for the Washington Commanders since Jayden Daniels last played. Mostly for the better.

In Thursday’s practice, the second-year quarterback was a full participant for the first time since suffering a dislocated left elbow in Washington’s home loss to the Seattle Seahawks on November 2. Head coach Dan Quinn won’t reveal whether Daniels or backup Marcus Mariota will start Sunday’s road tilt at the Minnesota Vikings. But barring a setback, all signs point to Washington’s QB1 returning.

Wide receiver Noah Brown — out since Week 2 with a groin injury and currently on injured reserve — is slated to rejoin the active roster one week after Terry McLaurin played his second game since September 21. Include Daniels and right guard Sam Cosmi, who missed the opening six games while recovering from ACL surgery, and Washington will finally be close to fielding its projected starting lineup for the first time all season. Whew.
